September 18th, 2001

Toronto has been shocked like the rest of the world.   NYC is home for many of us.  None of the cast lost family members or friends.  It took some time to reach my NYC friends due to busy circuits, but everyone is accounted for.  My heart goes out to all the torn families, and to the brave public safety workers.  I still pray for a miracle.

We performed the night of the madness, observing moments of silence with the audience.  It doesn't feel right to sing while others are in such horrible anguish.  I'm sure we didn't sound quite the same.
Sandra Diving from the Sky
Before we left Dallas, I took my first skydiving lesson.  It was a tandem jump from 13500 feet with the chute opening at about 5000 feet.  We looked down at the sunset as we fell.
Sandra DeNise as Annette
For the matinee on Saturday September 15th,  I performed the role of Annette.  Here I am in costume.  Everyone was very supportive.

I think we are lucky to be here in Toronto for a while.  Maybe by the time we travel again, things will be closer to normal.
